“The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing their way into it. It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law.” Luke 16:16-17 (NIV)
There are many letters in the Daily Cross, and many of them discuss discipleship, and that’s the mission of this ministry. We often suggest self-discipline by obeying our Lord’s commands and show you examples of how to follow them. Those were not invented to look good, but someone practices them daily. We show you the rewards that you may pick up along the Narrow Road by carrying your cross. Those are joy, patience, faith, hope and unconditional love, signs of a disciple which I can testify as true. For years, I have had the best seat in the house in men’s ministry. I hope I still have the same seat, just in a different location. So you know, the Narrow Road is not for everyone. If you don’t believe that you have been forgiven much, then the Narrow Road may not be for you. Our Lord said those who have been forgiven little love little (Luke 7:47). But if you are on the Narrow Road by your own decision, and no one has forced you, the enemy will use all the resources at his disposal to distract and attack you. If he cannot attack you directly because the odds of winning are low, he will attack you indirectly with deception.
John the Baptist was the last prophet sent by the Father to pave the way for His Son. After the Son of Man’s first coming, there was no need to send any more prophets in the New Testament era, which is also our era. God humbled Himself and became one of us. We have seen our Lord through the Gospels, and we have His commands and have received His grace and mercy, and the good news of the Kingdom of Heaven. Those who have received our Lord as their Lord and Savior, have received His forgiveness and unconditional love. We have witnessed His love in a full display on the Cross. And whoever has seen the Son in their hearts has also seen the Father.
Do we need any more prophets as messengers? For what?
There have been many self-proclaimed prophets who came in our Lord’s name and had many followers. If the Father and the Son did not send them because John the Baptist was the last prophet confirmed by our Lord, then who sent those self-proclaimed prophets? There is only one other guy.
Many self-proclaimed prophets have initiated their campaigns by altering the Gospels with their own interpretations. The tactic was always some truth with some lies. Many of those religions emerged in the 19th century, claiming their prophets had seen visions from angels. The same happened with the doctrine of the Rapture, which was founded in a dream by a 15-year-old girl. You can check it up. This led me to believe that the enemy and his minions have been waging a fierce campaign of deception over the past 200 years, aiming to sow the seeds of complacency for lukewarm Christians, reduce the number of the faithful and delay the appointed time.
But some say, what about Acts 2:17, since we are in the last days?
“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.” Acts 2:17-18 (NIV)
Indeed, many are prophesying online and sharing their dreams in videos. They discuss the Rapture and describe their dreams as if they will happen. Are they the ones referred to in Acts 2:17-18? I don’t know. But one thing is certain: prophesying does not equal prophethood. Anyone can share their dreams with anyone, but it doesn’t make them legitimate prophets. Prophets were sent by God and received God’s words to alert the Jewish nation during the Old Testament era. Many of them were tortured and killed. Then the Good Landlord decided to send the last one left, His Only Begotten Son and expected the tenants would respect His Son. But no, they killed the Heir.
We discussed a timeline in the previous letter, “Everything That Must Happen Has Already Happened”. Some of you agree with this research and have no fear. Instead, you look forward to it. I must commend your faith and courage. Today’s letter serves as a reminder of the deceptions from within. We have shared some before. I thought an orderly format might come in handy when we need it as a reminder.
They told us that the baptism of water secures our salvation.
But our Lord said:
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV)
Billions of people were baptized, and they are not a few. How many is a few? How many were saved after the Big Flood? How many were spared from Sodom and Gomorrah? So you know, it is always about discipleship, not membership. Our Lord cannot be mocked. He knows everyone’s heart.
They told us that once we are baptized by water, the Holy Spirit will come upon us.
But our Lord said:
“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:15-18 (NIV)
If I’m to give something very personal and valuable to someone, I need to know this person is worthy of my trust and that he or she will honor it as I honor it. The Holy Spirit is not something any pastors or church leaders can command during a water baptism; it is not theirs to give. It is our Lord’s Spirit, and He will give to those disciples who keep His commands during their journey.
They told us that the pastors, preachers, and so-called prophets who perform miracles in public are anointed ones, and they deserve to be on the pedestal.
But our Lord said:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” Matthew 7:21-23 (NIV)
The will of the Father is for us to follow and obey the Son. How many church leaders have fallen from grace as their hidden sins came to light? All things hidden will be disclosed. Many of them have performed miracles in public, and they were all on the pedestal.
They told us that born-again Christians cannot be possessed by evil spirits.
Paul said, “Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:7-9 (NIV)
Can anyone argue that Paul didn’t have the Holy Spirit in him? The Holy Spirit would come on the people Paul baptized, and that was how our Lord honored Paul. Still, Paul had an evil spirit in his flesh that tormented him daily. Our Lord knew Paul well, and it was necessary to keep Paul humble and depending on Him daily. No one is exempt from the enemy’s attack while in the flesh. I have witnessed deliverances of evil spirits in our Lord’s name and the immediate healing in individuals, many of whom were Christians, including pastors and also a rabbi who did not believe in our Lord.
They told us to wait for the Rapture. Our Lord will secretly come first to remove the Christians to be spared from the Tribulation. Then, He will come again with His heavenly force to deal with the enemy.
But our Lord said:
“Look at the fig tree and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:29-36 (NIV)
These words are for believers, not for Muslims, Buddhists or Atheists. John wrote the book of Revelation to warn the believers of what will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Christians will be tested even more than non-believers because our Lord also said:
“The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” Luke 12:47-48 (NIV)
More about the Rapture lie can be found in this letter: “Not Be Taken Against Your Will”.
They told us that a person's salvation cannot be removed.
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalm 51:10-12 (NIV)
King David begged God not to remove the Holy Spirit from him after the adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband. David knew the severe consequences of the Holy Spirit being removed, having witnessed what happened to King Saul, who was once anointed. God gave David a second chance, but took his firstborn as punishment. Without the lust and murdering spirits within, David would not have been able to carry out the adultery and murder plots. We see the proof here of evil spirits dwelling in an anointed person with the Holy Spirit, like Paul. The same has happened to many fallen-from-grace megachurch pastors. They planted their church, and we must believe that God once blessed them. But no one is exempt from the temptation and enticement of the enemy when pride takes root and grows. The Holy Spirit can no longer stay when evil desires grow too strong. Imagine a holy friend, witnessing everything evil done in his presence. This friend will leave, and those who tamper with the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in this age and the age to come because our Lord will not be crucified again.
They told us that God anointed someone to defend our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Lord said false prophets would appear and deceive many by this time because His return is soon. Whoever proclaims themselves a prophet or even an anointed one, be careful and do not be deceived. They will say, “Come with me and I will show you where He is…”. When that happens, don’t go!
“At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time. “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.” Matthew 24:23-26 (NIV)
Our Lord needs no help from anyone, much less a celebrity or a politician. Our Lord is not a soft teacher as the world wants us to see. He is the Mighty King who will come in the sky with 100 million heavenly warriors to deal with the enemy, the beast and the false prophet. Therefore, let’s focus on what we can control at this time, that is, our faithfulness. It is written:
“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.” Revelation 22:12-15 (NIV)
Whichever difficulty you are going through, may our Lord bless you with wisdom, patience and strength while you wait.
He will not delay.
