“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:17-21 (NIV)
How much do you trust our Lord Jesus Christ?
Many Christians would say they trust Him 100%. If we trust Him 100%, we also do what He says because that’s what He asked. But I think many Christians do not know how to trust our Lord. They may think our Lord is soft and need them to come to the rescue. I have reminded us in Daily Cross that all Disciples are Christians, but not all Christians are Disciples. I have seen many Christians claiming to be faithful disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ but still unable to give up their sinful lifestyles and pride. That’s confusing for people from the outside looking in and probably also for themselves. They lie to themselves and don’t know our Lord well.
In a recent event, the organizers of the Paris Olympics apologized over a parody of The Last Supper of our Lord Jesus Christ and the 12 Apostles with drag queens and transgenders and a nude singer. They said: “We believe this ambition was achieved; if people have taken any offence, we are really sorry.”
I commented on this event in Daily Cross: “I Thought We Were The Good Guys.” You already know who is behind the scenes, and they call themselves the good guys. They also know the time is near.
Do you think anyone can change the enemy’s heart?
Can anyone change the hearts of those who follow the enemy and hate our Lord?
By boycotting them?
I was like that, though, protesting whenever I felt I needed to publicly show my support and righteousness. I thought too highly of myself. I was just a resounding gong and a clanging cymbal and knew nothing.
Then I realized only our Lord can change hearts if He wanted to. Did our Lord ever ask us to defend Him before the enemy? He said He would come with His armies of the heavenly force of angels, and we can watch if we are still here as His elects.
He asked us to acknowledge Him before others so He could see that we are with Him and not against Him. How do we acknowledge Him under this circumstance? Follow His commands and understand that it is His to avenge; He will repay. He is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. You have to believe that. You can try to imagine the majesty of His mighty power and the incredible force that created the universe. He is not a soft teacher like the world wants you to see. He is a mighty King. He does not need you to defend Him before others; He only needs you to trust and obey Him.
Therefore, He said:
“Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near. Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.” “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” Revelation 22:10-16 (NIV)
