“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)
I still vividly remember that day in May 2012. It was also the year I was saved. Many things I did not understand then, and I haven’t really started reading the Bible yet.
Something happened that day in May and it was the first time I had to trust our Lord more than I trusted myself during that period of my life.
When I came back to the apartment building that day, it was late. I was about to press the key fob to open the underground parking door, but the door opened by itself. I thought someone was coming out from the underground parking, but there was no car. It was a bit strange, but I didn’t think much about it at that moment.
It was expected, and no one was in the underground parking lot either. I parked my car and walked toward the elevator. I was about 15 feet from the elevator, and the elevator door opened. I thought someone was coming out of the elevator, but when I looked, no one was inside.
“Knock, and the door will be opened to you,” a voice said to me before I stepped into the elevator. I wasn’t sure what that meant, but I later learned this verse from Matthew 7.
It was a turning point in my walk with our Lord Jesus Christ. He was there when I needed Him the most. Then, I wanted to know Him more, so I kept asking through prayers. He is faithful. Sometimes, it was as simple as “Lord Jesus, Help Me!” There has been no turning back since then.
If He can do it for me, He can do it for you.
We just need to ask.
