“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Matthew 5:5-13
My New Year’s Resolution is to pray the Lord’s Prayer without ceasing whenever possible. We are in a special time. Our Lord does not lie, and He promises to come very soon. I’m grateful for the Lord’s Prayer. It set the precedence and a standard from our Lord. We start by acknowledging our Heavenly Father, the Creator of the universe. We give Him the control of our lives. We give thanks for our food. We ask for forgiveness for our sins. We commit to forgiving others. We humbly ask for guidance and protection from temptation because our flesh is weak. We ask for our Lord’s deliverance from the enemy. The Lord’s Prayer covers everything we need. We have discussed this before. This is also a reminder for me.
How long does it take to pray the Lord’s Prayer?
Could it be around 30 seconds? If we pray this prayer 10 times daily, it will only take 5 minutes. That’s the time we read one short Substack. We can pray this prayer 50 times daily; it is the time for a cup of coffee. However, the effect and the power that this prayer brings will impact our lives and those around us. Pray it when we open our eyes in the morning and lie down our heads at night. When we walk outside or when we drive. When we do our chores or sit down for a coffee or tea. When we look out the window or think about our Lord. There are many when because a day has many hours. We can use some of those hours to pray the Lord’s Prayer without doubt and believe that we have already received them.
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:23-24
We may not realize what we did by praying without ceasing, but we will see that ourselves and the people around us become better, much better. Everything becomes better because of our faithful prayers that cover them— precise, powerful and effective prayers taught by our Lord Jesus Christ.
A late famous martial artist once said, “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” We often discussed the spiritual warfare from the enemy and his minions. Those attacks can be fierce and non-stop. A martial art kick has no use here. Most do not know what to do under these attacks, including Christians. Prayers may not come out because of the oppressive force from the enemy. But for a disciple who has practiced our Lord’s Prayers 10,000 times, praying the Lord’s prayer is now part of our spiritual muscle memory. We can now pray the Lord’s Prayer in any situation, even under enormous pressure. The enemy and his minions fear the one who has practiced the same prayer 10,000 times. They don’t like it.
Apostle Paul said: “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17
May our Lord bless you with strong faith, wisdom and courage for 2025. May our Lord protect you and your loved ones until His return. Let’s rejoice evermore together and pray without ceasing.
Happy New Year!

When you pray, don’t foolishly babble on and on repetitiously like the Pharisees. They think God likes to hear mindlessly unending rote prayers. They think their superfluous prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. When words are many, sin is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise. Matthew 6:7; Proverbs 10:19
